Sharing 25 Years of Experience
A QUARTER-CENTURY GLOBAL FACTORIES
This year, Global Factories marks a major milestone: a quarter-century of revolutionizing pharmacy automation.
From our beginnings to becoming a global leader, our journey has always been about one thing: improving patients’ lives. Our mission to develop efficient, safe, and innovative systems for dispensing and verifying medication in Blister Cards and Pouch Rolls, has guided us every step of the way.
Over the past 25 years the team has grown with talented professionals across the Netherlands, USA, Vietnam, Germany, and Italy. Together, we’re creating unique solutions like the Medicine Detection Machine (MDM) and the VandenBrink Blister Machine (VBM), which ensure that patients receive the right medication safely and reliably.
And the Blister Cutter & Unitizer (BCU), for cutting, packaging, and labeling unit-dose medication.
We are honored to be trusted by pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare providers globally.
We believe in making a difference. By blending technology, creativity, and expertise, we strive every day to support patients in living healthier, longer, and more independent lives.
Here’s to many more years of innovation and impact—thank you to our incredible team and partners who make it all possible. Together, we’re not just making machines; we’re transforming lives.
BORN ON JUNE 8th
On June the 8th 2000, Richard van den Brink founded a company on designing divers innovative products. The focus on pharmacy automation came through his brother, who introduced him to a new and fascinating niche: multidose medication packaging. Soon the idea for the MDM — Medicine Detection Machine was born.
THE STORY OF GLOBAL FACTORIES
In 2002, Richard van den Brink stood in a pharmacy and saw something that stopped him in his tracks.
Pharmacists were meticulously checking thousands of medicine pouches by hand – one after another. It was a slow, repetitive process that demanded intense focus, yet left plenty of room for human error…
A HOUSE FULL OF IDEAS
To celebrate 25 years of Global Factories we created this Delft Blue miniature of our office — a handcrafted replica of our headquarters in The Hague. A symbol of Dutch heritage and craftsmanship.
This building has been more than just bricks. It has been the home of bright ideas, dedicated people, and bold solutions — all aimed at helping patients live healthier, longer, and more independent lives. But our office at Nassaulaan 23 in The Hague is also a national monument with a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century. Built between 1846 and 1847 by order of King Willem II, it is part of a unique urban ensemble in The Hague’s Willemspark district.
This miniature is a tribute to our journey, our colleagues past and present, and the future we continue to build.
